EVERY WEEK consists of an Acting &/OR Musical Theatre Class

Every class is made with the aim of having fun but more importantly: Having fun whilst still learning. Unlike other leading Stage schools based in Medway we are much more focused on learning and development of our students. We expect our students to do work at home learning lines , going over scenes practising techniques etc. Acting classes will vary in content every Term. All Acting classes are tailor made and age appropriate. As our students grow we will ensure that their expert knowledge grows with them.
Specialist Tutor Sally from the profession will be deliver set Acting methods and techniques. These will include how to do: Shakespeare, Stanislavski, , Greek Theatre, looking after your voice, TV commercials, theatre knowledge and many more aspects.

It may be sensible for students considering a career in performing to bring notepad/exercise book and a pen to every session so that they can create a record for future reference that they can refer back to.

Every class will be led by Neal with an Assistant who is able to help those who lack experience or confidence. Musical theatre combines all Three aspects of the entertainment industry: Acting, Singing and dance. Dance mediums can have very different techniques and sometimes very similar ones. For the foreseeable future we will be concentrating techniques of Jazz, Production Routines, Hip Hop, Street Dance and Contemporary.

All classes will consist of: an age appropriate warm up and body conditioning session to strengthen the core muscles required for the medium, possible corner work depending on confidence, technique section for the medium and section- routine/exploring the dance form in depth. We will then combine this into Singing using various vocal techniques and exercises to help improve tone, stamina, and range. The acting element is just as vital in Musical Theatre as it is in souly acting. There is not point performing a dance routine or song if you dont feel emotions and show these whilst perfoming.
Most important is to learn the disapline required for a full scale show. To know when we are in performance mode for an audience and how we must behave.
